Rachel & Dylan’s wedding at The Acre Boomerang Farm was the perfect reminder that sometimes the best days are the ones that don’t go exactly to plan.
Originally set for Saturday, the weather had other ideas… and by “other ideas” we mean flooding. A quick phone call with Rachel — who, despite the circumstances, was still smiling—kicked off a bit of a scheduling shuffle. Sunday was floated, but by the end of the day, the call was made: Monday was the go. And honestly? Best. Decision. Ever.
Monday rolled around and the weather delivered. Blue skies, warm air, and not a rain cloud in sight. I arrived to the bride crew in full prep mode—bubbles in hand, laughter echoing through the room, and the kind of energy that tells you it’s going to be a good day. Dylan arrived and was looking sharp, but let’s be honest, little Cooper totally stole the show in his suit and sunnies. Absolute legend.
Back with the girls, it was time for the dress, and the room lit up with smiles (and maybe a few happy tears) when Rachel’s dad walked in and saw his daughter all dressed up. The ceremony went off without a hitch—held outdoors, just as they’d hoped, and even watched over by a couple of kookaburras for good Aussie measure. After the “I do’s” came the hugs, group photos, and some well-earned drinks on the lawn while guests mingled and soaked it all in.
We snuck away for some couple photos and got hit with a light shower, but it was one of those soft, moody sprinkles that made the moment feel even more magical. Then it was back to the barn, where things kicked off in full swing—speeches, cake cutting, and a killer first dance. And just when you’d think a Monday wedding might wind down early? Nope. This crew came to party. The dancefloor was packed, the vibes were high, and it was one of those nights that felt like a reward for all the patience and pivoting.
What could’ve been a washout turned into something genuinely perfect. A lesson in going with the flow, and proof that love (and a great crew) can weather anything. 💃✨
