On October 5th, 2024, Tanae and Jake threw one of the best parties—oh, I mean, weddings—Northern NSW had ever seen.
From the moment I started talking with Tanae about her plans, you just knew this wasn’t going to be your typical, formal wedding; it was going to be a celebration. This couple have a lot of family & friends and they wanted them all there.
The day kicked off at a beautiful coastal house at Hastings Point, where Tanae and her bride tribe were getting ready. The vibe was electric—Fireball shots were making the rounds, bottles of champagne were popping, and laughter echoed through the house. Spirits were sky-high. As the time to leave crept closer, the girls swapped their comfy robes for their stunning dresses, but before heading downstairs, Tanae took a quiet moment to herself. When she finally descended the stairs, the energy shifted. Her girls, waiting with their backs to the stairs turned around, and the room exploded with cheers, gasps, and squeals of excitement. There were so many hugs—it was one of those pure joy moments.
Next stop was Tanae’s family property, where Jake and his groomsmen were hanging out, enjoying a cold beer and greeting guests as they trickled in. Jake looked relaxed, but you could tell he was excited. As the 3 p.m. ceremony rolled around, everyone made their way over to the big tree in the paddock, the perfect spot for a laid-back wedding. Friends were even handing out mini bottles of Fireball to the guests—definitely a hint of the party vibes to come.
Tanae and her girls made a grand entrance, arriving in style via 4WD. When she started walking down the aisle, Jake’s face lit up. He was all smiles, and you could just see the excitement in his eyes. The ceremony was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and fun. There were some good laughs during the retelling of Tanae and Jake’s love story, but also some emotional, touching words. After exchanging rings and sealing it all with a kiss, they walked back down the aisle through a shower of bubbles, with guests rushing up to give them hugs and congratulations.
Once we grabbed some group shots with family and friends, we snuck off with Tanae, Jake, and their bridal party to capture a few stunning shots as the sun started to dip behind the trees. The golden hour gave us that soft, magical light, and we managed to sneak Tanae and Jake away for a quiet moment alone, taking it all in before the real party started.
And what a party it was! The guests were enjoying themselves under the clear marquee, the bridal party was ready to make their entrance. They came in hot—dancing their way in with huge cutouts of Tanae and Jake’s faces, pumping up the crowd! Then came the newlyweds themselves, popping champagne bottles and spraying them into the air. Next thing you know, they’re hoisted onto the groomsmen’s shoulders, dancing like rockstars—this was the signal that the night was about to go off!
After the champagne tower, cake cutting, and some hilarious speeches filled with cheers and roars of laughter, it was time for the first dance. Under the twinkling fairy lights, Tanae and Jake started with a slow, romantic shuffle, but when the beat dropped, the dance floor exploded. The energy was contagious, and soon enough, everyone was up dancing, laughing, and having the time of their lives.
The live band kept the party going well into the night, with guests barely leaving the dance floor except to refuel with another drink. It was the kind of night where you lose track of time because you’re having too much fun. Tanae and Jake’s wedding wasn’t just a day to remember—it was a celebration that people would be talking about for years to come. Congrats lovers.
