Despite a morning, the skies cleared just 15 minutes before the ceremony, revealing a perfect winter day. Harris and his groomsmen set the tone with some serious pool table banter, while Brodie and her bridesmaids filled their prep time with bubbles, dance routine practice, and endless laughter.
When it was time for the ceremony, spirits were high. Defying tradition, Brodie chose Gang of Youths’ “The Deepest Sighs, the Frankest Shadows” as her aisle song, it was building as the bridesmaids entered and peaked right as Brodie was halfway down the aisle, she fist pumped her bouquet, the whole wedding cheered and it was one of the most authentic moments I’ve ever witnessed at a ceremony.
Harris’ sister, Vinka, officiated with deep insight, adding a personal touch to the vows. With rings exchanged and a kiss sealing the deal, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle to a flurry of hugs and kisses.
In true Wattleseed Collective style, Brodie and Harris opted to mingle with their guests instead of posing for endless photos. They joined their family & friends at cocktail hour, soaking in every moment with their loved ones. With the sun beginning to set, we stole them away and captured some beautiful, candid shots in the golden glow. As we were finishing, Harris gave me a great compliment “I was a bit worried about getting these photos, but that was really fun”
The reception kicked off with high energy as the bridal party made grand entrances – the ladies with their choreographed routine and the groomsmen ripped their shirts open to reveal varying levels of fitness. The night rolled on with a mix of heartfelt speeches and belly laughs, culminating in a romantic first dance before the guests took over the dance floor. And just as I was heading home, the rain started to fall again, perfectly bookending a truly magical day. Congrats lovers
